6 Months!

WOW! I can't believe Asher is 6 months old! I know I say that every time, but he really is growing so fast. I cannot tell you how amazed and humbled and grateful that the Lord saw fit to make us parents to Asher!
Here are some things that have happened within the last month:

A gray hair has appeared---Yes, you read right! Zack has a spot of gray in his hair that he was born with and we found a gray hair in Asher's hair a few weeks ago. I think it is the greatest thing! So cool how we can see little pieces of ourselves in him.

We have begun eating veggies! So far, he has tried squash, sweet potatoes, green beans and carrots--he LOVES them all. Even the green beans! I don't think he is going to be a very picky eater. He's happy as long as he gets something in his mouth--haha! We have even begun introducing a few fruits. We tried bananas at first. He wasn't too sure about it. These have probably been his least favorite, I think. He makes a funny face when we feed it to him, almost like he wants to gag--hah! He has also tried pears and seems to like those too.

He can sit up completely unsupported without falling. He can move from a sitting position to his tummy. And from his tummy he can get up on all fours. He rocks back and forth on his hands and knees, but so far no forward motion. He has inched forward a couple of times, but nothing that would signifiy definite crawling yet. It is really kind of funny to watch because he will get up on his knees and then get on his hands and feet. He wants to crawl so, so badly, but just can't seem to figure out how to move his hands forward. He gets frustrated with himself, but we know he'll be on the move in no time! We were at the office one day last week and a patient commented on how he looks like he was doing pushups--he is ready for the army already, she said--haha! He also can stand without our holding him when he has something to hold on to. It is so cute to see him standing patting his chubby little hands on the coffee table! (don't worry we don't let him stand without watching him very closely)

He also has begun making the sweetest face that I have a picture of I'll have to post later. He gets this big grin and squishes up his nose and his eyes get squinty---it is so, so precious! He is the friendliest baby! We will be walking through WalMart and he will just smile at everyone! I have a feeling this little guy is never going to meet a stranger! When we chose the name 'Asher', I did some research on what it meant and it means happy or blessed. He really lives up to his name. He is a very, very happy baby! We are so blessed!
6 month check up is tomorrow. I'll post his stats and some pictures soon! Happy 6 months Asher! We love you!

New Ride

We have been looking at getting this for a long time. It is a trailer that you attach to your bike for a baby to ride in.  We love to ride our bikes and it is so nice with the Ladiga trail so close by.  We finally decided to go get one on Saturday. Zack put it together and we strapped him in for a quick ride around the block. I couldn't resist taking a few pictures because he looked so cute and was having so much fun!

Teeth!

Here are a couple close-ups of his two teeth!

On the move

I laid him on the center of the mat and somehow he scooted himself off of it and began to eat the corner......that boy!
