No Nonsense

On our way home from running errands today, Asher and Honor were having the funniest exchange.....Here's how it went down:
Honor was blowing rasberries with her sweet little mouth and Asher says: "No, Honor, no 'pitting! alright? No Honor, that's rude, 'top 'pitting." Honor is not phased, so he continues: " You hear me? Obey Asher, ok? Stop spitting!" Honor just giggles and continues spitting....

(Zack and I were cracking up! Just wanted to share :))

8 months

(I have been holding on to this post for a while in hopes of snagging my husband's computer to upload some pictures along with it....but I figured I'd go ahead and post this and get to some pictures soon....)
Where is the time going?? Honor is 8 months old!! I can't even begin to describe how much my life has changed in the past 8 months. I had no idea how challenging parenting was going to be when I had two babies! Oh it is worth every sweet crazy second, but wow what a challenge! My baby girl is such a blessing and she is changing so much every day. She is so spunky and definitely your typical redhead (that's a nice way of saying the gal's got a temper:)) She isn't crawling yet, but oh she wants to and it makes her so frustrated that she can't take off after her brother. She is at that stage where being on the floor playing is more frustrating than fun. She will get on her knees and rock, but hasn't gone forward yet. She will go in circles and push herself backwards--so it won't be long. And once she learns how to crawl, she will be much happier. I'm not quite sure I am ready for her to be crawling, but I know she will be happier to be on the move. She is eating finger foods now. We had a tough time with baby foods at first, but she finally got the hang of it. I made all of her food, which worked out really well for Honor and I enjoyed it and am able to be creative with her food, which is fun. We also didn't break the bank buying baby food. I will definitely do this in the future if we have any more children. Her favorites are bananas, sweet potatoes and squash. WE just recently introduced her first meat: fish and she LOVES it--who knew? She has TWO teeth! Which she got a few weeks ago at the same time. They were hard work for her and we had a few rough nights, but she is a trooper :) She loves to clap her hands and if you say "yaaayy Honor", she will start clapping her hands. She makes a bye-bye waving motion and will copy you when you say bye bye by saying baba, but I'm not sure that she knows what she is doing--she's just a ham. We are starting to work on signing, which we did with Asher and he still enjoys learning new signs, so we hope to be successful with Honor. She babbles ALL the time. I feel like she will be a talker. She loves making noises and I love to hear her sweet voice. She is so smiley and loves all things girly. She also loves her brother's toy cars though. Today she held one of Asher's hot wheel cars all afternoon, which irritates Asher to no end, but he is learning to share :) Needless to say we are head over heels in love with our sweet Hon-bon. An incredible 8 months, can't wait to see what's in store next! We have our NINE month appointment in two weeks!! I'll post some pictures soon!

Christmas 2010

We had such a wonderful Christmas this year. Our first Christmas with our precious little Honor and Asher's third Christmas (seems weird to me). We were able to stay home this year. My family usually takes a Christmas trip every other year and this was our year at home. We went to my grandmother's for our annual Christmas get together a few weeks before Christmas and in my attempt to get out of the house with my two children and all that comes along with going on a trip with two children, I forgot my camera...so I have no pictures from that get together :( but it was fun and always wonderful to get together with family. My grandmother is my favorite :)
With my side of the family being a blended family we have an extended Christmas celebration so we can get in time and fun and food with everyone. Our festivities started the Sunday before Christmas when we celebrated at my Dad's house. We had a yummy Mexican meal and opened presents and had fun visiting. Asher always loves playing with Gracie! We got showered with goodies and toys that the kids are still enjoying playing with. Asher got the most awesome bug collection that he loves trying to scare me with and Honor loves to chew on :) ( they are not real bugs by the way)
On a side note, The kids got the flu shot this year, which I'm not sure I'll do again. They got it in two doses and they got their second dose earlier in the week before Christmas. Honor got what the doctor's office told me was residual symptoms from the shot and ran a fever for about 3 days. It was SO sad!!! She was pitiful all during Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. She bounced back in enough time for the Casey Christmas, but suffered through Christmas Eve and Day with us :( You'll notice in the pictures she looks miserable, not herself at all. She is always smiling and happy, but she was red eyed and fussy.
On Christmas Even we were able to worship together at Eaglepoint at our Christmas Even service and then go to my parents house for dinner (soup and bread that was to die for) and open presents with my parents. Honor got her first baby doll!! Asher got a train set that has since that time kept him occupied for mounds of time!
After we got home from my parents and got the kids in bed, Zack and I got to work putting Christmas together.

We videoed Christmas morning and I only took a few pictures. We got the kids a table and chairs and Asher got books, puzzles, a Mickey Mouse, Toy Story 3 and a couple other little things. Honor got socks, tights, stacking cups, Beauty and the Beast and a pea-pod baby. We had lots of fun watching them open presents and seeing how excited Asher would get.
On Tuesday night, we celebrated with The Casey's. Things are pretty wild and crazy when all the kids are there. With one 4 year old and 3 two year olds and a 7 month old, how could they not be? :) Asher loves, loves, loves playing with his cousins!! He is such a social child! We exchange names with the Casey family and definitely had fun exchanging gifts and watching the kiddos play with their presents. We got to spend a few fun days with the Caseys while the Colquetts were in town after our Christmas shebang.
Welp that's about it for our Christmas shenanigans. We always cherish time spent with family making fun memories. These are the best days of our life and we don't want to take anything for granted. We are so blessed!
Pictures coming soon!

The Casey Thanksgiving!

I didn't take quite as many pictures here because I was going back and forth between chasing Asher, getting Honor down for a nap, checking on Honor, playing with Asher....etc, but here are a few I did get. :)

That's better :)
