Welcome Asher James

Finally!!! After 41 weeks and 12 hours of labor, Asher has made his arrival. He was born yesterday at 12:35, weighed 7 lbs 9 0z, and was 19.5 in long. Brittany did great with the delivery. We're so glad we finally get to hold him and see what he looks like. He's perfect in every way. We praise God for the beautiful gift of our healthy baby boy!!

Update

Still no baby. I went to the doctor yesterday and I am making progress, it is just VERY SLOW. I haven't dilated any, but I am thinned out 90%--so that was good news. He said it could still be any day now! We are keeping our fingers crossed and trying to enjoy this downtime. I know life as I know it is about to be turned upside down! It is just nerve wracking trying to wait and wondering when he'll be here, hoping everything is okay, will he be healthy?, etc, etc...I guess my worries as a mom are only just beginning. Well hopefully my next post will be with pictures of Asher! Pray he comes quickly!!!

Zack's Awesome New Office

Here are some pictures of Zack's new office that I said I would post.

Me and Zack at his new desk (please excuse my hugeness-haha)

Tona, a friend that works at Jennifer's shop painted this---isn't it incredible?
The entire office has a "guitar/music" theme.

Thanks to everyone! Zack LOVES his new office! We are so blessed to have such incredible family and friends!

And so we wait....

Well today is my due date. October 27th and Asher's still snug in my tummy. It doesn't look like anything will happen today. Shan says it could be any time now so we are anxiously waiting. Hopefully it won't be much longer. I am trying to comfort myself with the fact that at the very most it will only be 2 more weeks until we have to get him outta there. Needless to say, we are all ready for him to be here. Saturday was spent walking around the mall in the hopes that it would help things along, but so far nothing is happening. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful pregnancy. I haven't had any problems other than just general discomfort now, which is relatively normal being 40 weeks pregnant, right? I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so we'll let you know if there has been any progress. For now, we will continue to wait, remembering that the Lord knows down to the exact second he has planned for this baby boy to enter the world.

Happy Birthday Zack!

Zack turned 25 this past Sunday!  He had a big weekend full of surprises!  All weekend long, it was my job to keep him distracted so we could pull off one surprise after another it seemed like. A few families from church finished/recreated an office workspace for Zack at the church. It looks incredible! They worked so hard Friday night and all day Saturday painting, cleaning and decorating and surprised Zack on Sunday morning.  It was amazing! I'll post pictures as soon as I load them onto the computer. Then on Sunday night, we threw him a surprise birthday party.  We enjoyed spending time with our family and good friends celebrating Zack turning the big 2-5.  I wanted him to have a very memorable "last birthday" before he becomes a dad and luckily Asher didn't make his debut this weekend and spoil any of the surprises. I figured with Zack and Asher's birthdays being so close together that more than likely Zack will get the short end of the stick when it comes to celebrations in the future.  So here are some photos from our birthday bash weekend.

Zack's cake--thanks to Michelle from my work---it looked amazing!!

The Waiting Game

Well I am 39 weeks pregnant today! Only 7 days from my due date! It seems as though Asher is going to take his sweet little time getting here.  I have been to the doctor once a week for the last 4 weeks and so far I am not making any big changes. He has dropped and I am thinned out about halfway but I am not dilated any yet. Shan says it could be any day now and because he has dropped already, when he does decide to come he will hopefully come quickly--which is exciting for me! I have been praying that I would have a fast labor.  But who knows what will happen. Right now I am just waiting....which is tough. I am constantly reminding myself to soak up every quiet moment and savor this time because things are about to change so much.  But I am sooo ready to meet my sweet little boy that it is hard to be patient. We will keep you updated if there are any changes.

The Perks of My Job :)

I work at my stepdad's OB/GYN's office, which basically means I have been in pregnancy heaven. I enjoy many perks from working there--answers to any silly question I may have about what I should be eating or if I can go on a 12 hour car ride, etc, not having to wait for hours to see the doctor (I just go into a room when I'm ready to be seen--haha), the comfort of knowing that if I went into labor at work I would just have to walk across the street to the hospital. It is the best having my family provide my OB care! But probably the best thing about it is the unlimited access I have had to the ultrasound machine---that's right. I have probably been scanned at least 15 times since I have been pregnant. It has been so fun to watch as Asher has grown from teeny tiny cells with a heart beat into the beautiful little boy he is on the 4D pictures. I thought I'd share some pictures with you so you could all see how he has grown.:)

My little gummy bear :). The circle beside the baby is the yolk sac, where the baby gets the nutrition early on.
This is around 13 weeks. It is a good picture of his profile and his little nose.

I call this the "alien phase". This is a shot of his face and his little hand, like he is waving to us.

He has grown a good bit! Here is a great picture of his spine. (his head is huge here, but don't worry I think he'll grow into it)

It's a boy! (Can you tell?)

Here are some of my 4D shots:

He's got his foot on his forehead(--ouch?)

(His umbilical cord is right in front of his face, so that is what the weird thing coming from his eye is)
